Langer Over Dickie Gallery
1309 N Leavitt St, Chicago, IL
Langer Over Dickie Gallery is a new artist run space in Ukrainian Village, featuring contemporary artists from Chicago and beyond. The gallery was founded by Chicago-based artists, curators, and Maryland Institute College of Art Alums Ali Seradge and KT Duffy (MFAs Mount Royal School of Art 2014).

Langer Over Dickie was created to be a non-white space figuratively and literally. Located in the Ukrainian Village, the gallery offers a space for art members to communicate and reflect on works without the restrictions that come with the white walled gallery space. As a gallery, we strive to be diverse and inclusive, making it a priority to have a diverse range of mediums and artists shown. The represented artists will reflect demographics of Chicago (or local city/region) to the best of our ability. We will not commodify the identity of artists or leverage what may be perceived as a minority cache. Beyond its exhibitions, Langer Over Dickie hosts diverse cultural events, including poetry readings and art performances that reflect these same values.
Langer Over Dickie just opened its second show “Never Had a Jumpshot, Never Had a Plan” featuring work by artist James Williams II. The show will run until September 17. We have exhibitions scheduled through the year of 2020 featuring artists and curators that work in the Chicago area and beyond. Each show begins with a flag made to represent the artists and works shown. This flag acts as a sign and flyer calling community members to the gallery’s current exhibition.

Upcoming Exhibitions:
Sept 21st - Oct 20th: Jonathan Kortko
Oct 26th - Nov 25th: Jackie Milad
Nov 30th - Jan 5th: Elliot Doughtie and Shir Ende
Jan 18th - Feb 18th: Show in collaboration with Latitude Chicago Co-op Digital Lab
