Rhoden's Medical & Funeral Fund

Donation protected
This fund is for my brother who passed away yesterday due to complications with cancer.  He fought bravely and showed once again what an amazing fighter he was.

After being hit by a car when he was five years old, he had to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, but never let it stop him from doing anything he put his mind to, including learning to do everything with his strong hands  long arms, sharp intellect, and fast wheels instead of legs. One day he met a girl named Rachael (also in a wheelchair) and decided that he was going to put his mind to being the best husband to this perfect partner, and did  this proudly for the next 20 years.

They made a beautiful life together, moving from Massachusetts to Florida and living there independently together  by the water. W.hile staying in touch with friends and family here and building on family there, they made new friends  and became parents to Little Bear/LB and Butterfly adorable puppy babies, Rachael earned her PhD in social work helping others  as a counselor and Rhoden worked full-time with computers.   Through thick and thin they took care of one another. It wasn't easy, but many people told them they made it look that way.

My brother was one of the most kind, true, loving individuals anyone could ever meet. I will always remember him with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He was a man of honor, a man who loved with his whole heart.

He gave more of himself without asking for anything in return. Even as a kid, you just knew he was strong, smart and honest.

I hope he knew that I loved and admired him.
I hope he knew that I was proud of all he accomplished
I hope he knew that he was one of the best men I have ever met

He loved with abandon, didn’t judge or hold a grudge
Gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and refused to be helpless
QHe didn’t hold onto anger, and didn’t let his circumstances make him bitter

I hope he knew how many people were amazed by him
I hope he knew that the life he led was amazing
I hope he knew that he was loved so much

Rhoden Scott Haskell, one of the good guys. My side kick and practical joker
Please know that you were loved and you were amazing. My life was better because you were in it.

I will love you always and carry you in my heart until we meet again.
