Yvonne needs your help!

On April 14, our mother, Yvonne Green, suffered a stroke due to a blood clot that resulted in significant impairment to the right side of her body. Her team of healthcare doctors and specialists have recommended transferring her to a rehabilitation facility for two-four weeks of physical, occupational, and speech therapy treatment. They emphasize the importance of the first six weeks of post-stroke care since it’s critical to maximizing recovery and restoring lost function. Unfortunately, her medical insurance provider feels otherwise and has denied her coverage for such extended care.

While we will continue to plead our case with the insurance provider, we don’t want to delay care for our mom since it’s the course of treatment unanimously recommended by her team of healthcare specialists. (The doctors, nurses, and staff at Bethesda North have been incredible!) As such, we are forced to bear the costs out-of-pocket.

We have launched this GoFundMe campaign to rally support for our mom during this difficult time. Our mom has always been there for us, and we imagine she’s been there for many of you too. Your donations will cover the cost of the rehabilitation facility ($2k/day) and other essential needs. We also hope to make modifications to her home to provide accessibility as she works toward regaining her mobility.
