It could happen to anyone...

Many of you know my mother and I from our restaurant or personally throughout the years. There are many of you that we haven't had the pleasure of meeting as of yet.

I post today, not for myself but for a family that I believe truly could use all of our help, the Wells family, Brett, Jessica, Regan and Maddie. 9 months ago they were devastated when they received the news that Jessica was in need of a heart transplant and that time was short. By the grace of God, in just a few short weeks a heart became available. The transplant procedure was successfully performed much to everyone's relief. Today they find themselves reliving the same fear and emotions as Jessica is back in the hospital. Only now doctors don't know what is wrong. They are testing for everything from Cancer to infectious disease. They have had no luck pinpointing exactly what the problem may be.

My hope is that this post reaches enough people that can relate to the hardships that fall on us all and that you will find it in your hearts to help this family when they need it most. Since the transplant, they have lost the second income that Jessica provided when she was able to work. That responsibility now rests solely on Brett's shoulders while working full time and raising two well behaved, teenaged daughters. The girls have taken on jobs while still attending high school to try to ease the burden. Brett spends any free time traveling back and forth to the hospital to be with his wife.

Needless to say, the physical, mental and emotional stress is more than any family should have to bear alone; not to mention the financial strain this crisis has put on the family not knowing how much longer the bills will be paid or if they will be able to put food on the table. This is something that could happen to any of us at any given time and we all hope and pray that the help we need would be there in our time of need.
