Franklin Prejean's Fire Restoration Fund

On Saturday, February 1st just before 2am, I was awoke to a loud banging noise. Firefighters stormed into my apartment to rescue me as I was unaware that the duplex was on fire. Little did I know, that was the last day that I would occupy the place I called home for the last several years. Immediately, I was forced to leave without any of my possessions and only the clothes on my back (A kind lady offered me a pair of pants since I was not allowed to go back in the apartment to retrieve any items.) Thank God that the neighbor's dog alerted him to the fire and I was able to escape once firefighters arrived.

Updated info since the fire happened:
I was whisked away to hotel for the weekend. I did go back to visit the apartment. The roof and ceiling are caved in, water damage everywhere and clothes have a heavy smoke odor which makes it unsalvageable. On Monday, I was given another apartment with nothing in it. At 75 years old, it is very difficult to start all over again but I thank God that I am still here. I am looking for assistance in helping to furnish my new apartment, I need a bed, table, sofa, cooking utensils, clothes, cleaning and basic hygiene items. Any type of assistance will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to Franklin Prejean to help assist in moving forward from this life altering tragedy.
