I never imagined it would ever come to this; however, I find it necessary to reach out to you on Margo's behalf. Margo has always been there for anyone who needed an ear to hear, a shoulder to cry on and many times providing financial assistance. Well today Margo needs our help. On April 30, 2023, Margo had to undergo surgery to remove a very large tumor from her spine that had been there for so long it had calcified, meaning it had hardened. It was actually found by accident when they went to x-ray her shoulder. Her only option was surgery to remove it. To clarify, the procedure to “remove” the tumor entailed scraping as much of the tumor from the spine without compromising the spine, which would result in immediate and permanent paralysis.
The surgeon was able to remove 93% of the tumor. But this unfortunately left Margo paralyzed from the waist down. It's been well over a month with yet very little progress. As you can imagine, this is extremely devastating for Margo and for all of our family. When she is discharged, she will still need intensive therapy to try to restore feeling in her lower extremities.
Because Margo is not able to work at this time her short term benefits will not cover even her basic needs. Assistance is needed with everything from mounting medical bills to daily living expenses including gas, electricity, food, and water. As you can imagine, this has taken a massive toll on her mentally and physically. Please do what you can and keep Margo lifted up in prayer. May God continue to bless each and every one of you abundantly for your giving and your prayers.
