My husband was diagnosed on valentines day 2014 with terminal lung cancer. I need to get him home to be with family & friends ASAP. I also want him to seek care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Just to give you a little background information on why I am asking for help...When we moved to AZ my husband was contracted through Luke Airforce Base, he was making good money, I started working a couple months after I arrived. Things were going well the first few years and we both love AZ. I did have to do a short sale on our home in Niagara Falls due to the economy, housing market and trying to matain our obligations at home and expenses here in AZ .
Three years ago my husband had a stroke and was unable to go back to work,he did not know how to take care of himself as far as eating,meds, hygiene etc..and I was his only caregiver. I had lost my job of five years working for a debt management company. I was unemployed for two and 1/2 years and used any savings we did have put aside. I had recently started a new job at a warehouse through a temp company,which I did really like, again they had a big lay off and unfortunitly I was one who was let go. I was able to get another position a couple weeks later with the same company in the repair department.I thought things were going to start turning around and a couple weeks later is when my husband was diagnosed. We now live on just his SSD and because I am the only caregiver I am unable to go back to work.
I did not want to ask for help, and I certanly would never ask any one person to assit with our financial needs but at this point I have to do everything I can, swallow my pride and see if anyone is able to help us out.
