Harbour of Hope: Supporting Queer Refugee Sex Workers in Kenya
Hello, my name is Lucretia, and I am the Board Chair of the Kenya Network of Queer Refugee Sex Workers Led Organization (KNESWO). We are an advocacy organization committed to improving the lives of LGBTQI+ refugee sex workers who face extreme hardships and challenges in Kenya.
Why We Need Your Support
Queer refugees are among the most marginalized groups in Kenya. They flee persecution from their home countries only to face discrimination, violence, and extreme poverty in refugee camps and urban settings. Many are cut off from vital services, including healthcare, housing, and food security, making their situation even more dire.
We are raising funds through the Harbour of Hope program to support the essential needs of queer refugee sex workers in Kenya. Your contributions will go directly toward:
Rent: Providing safe housing for queer refugee sex workers who face eviction and homelessness.
Food: Ensuring access to daily meals, as many of our community members lack basic food security.
Medication: Supporting access to life-saving healthcare, including HIV medication, mental health services, and other urgent medical needs.
The Impact of Your Donation
A donation of $20 could provide food for a refugee sex worker for a week.
A donation of $50 could help cover one month of rent for someone facing eviction.
A donation of $100 could ensure access to essential healthcare for someone in urgent need.
Every dollar makes a difference. Your support will help our community survive these difficult times and build a future where queer refugee sex workers are treated with dignity and respect. Together, we can provide life-saving assistance and give hope to those who need it most.
Our Vision
We envision a world where queer refugee sex workers are free from violence and discrimination, have access to safe housing, healthcare, and economic empowerment. By supporting the Harbour of Hope program, you will be helping us fight for a society that respects the rights and humanity of all people, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or profession.
How You Can Help
Donate: No amount is too small. Every contribution counts.
Share: Spread the word by sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know, the bigger impact we can make.
Thank you for your support and solidarity in standing with queer refugee sex workers in Kenya. Together, we can create real change.
