Help Jess buy a new laptop

Hi!

I think you all know I work every day, almost all day, to further progressive causes, elect progressive candidates, and educate others about how to do the same. And I do it ALL on my laptop.

Yesterday my 4-year-old MacBook Pro died. Like, fully. Well, first the screen went black, and when I brought it in for servicing the guy told me that it would cost $550 to replace. But when I brought my poor laptop home so my husband could back it up and try to jury rig a temporary solution, it died completely. Like, gone.

I'm very bummed.

Needless to say my laptop is how I do everything. Without it I am helpless. Right now I'm borrowing my 11-year-old's MacBook Air to get this and my newsletter out, but obviously I need to purchase something for myself.

This is not something I budgeted for this year. Who am I kidding? I don't budget for things at all! I'm an activist!

So I'm trying this. If you've gotten anything at all out of the work I do, please consider giving literally any amount towards a new MacBook Air for me. It's $1,200 plus tax, and I need to get AppleCare, too. Anything y'all can give to amortize the cost would be hugely appreciated.

I promise to use it well. And hard. As apparently I did the last one. ☺️
