Pepper needs surgery!

This is Pepper. We've had him his whole life, adopted him from a shelter when he was about 6 months old. He's the sweetest dog ever. He's old, half-blind, and since last night, his right eye swelled up.

Naturally, he had to go to the vet. Because of Covid, there were no regular appointments at our usual vet for over a week. Okay, fine, this is an emergency, so I drive him over and we're seen right away.
I couldn't go back with him, so of course I sat in my car worrying more than I need to--the vets know what they're doing--until the doctor called.
It's his tooth. He's got bad teeth, and it's abscessed. Because of how fast it popped up and the location of the lump, the doc is positive that's what it is, and he wants to get Pepper into surgery ASAP to sort it. That's going to involve anesthesia, bloodwork, tooth-pulling, cleaning, and hospitalization, not to mention the medications they'll give him after. This is a whole scary ordeal.

He has surgery tomorrow, August 1. They wanted to get him in today, but they didn't have an opening, but the vet doesn't want to let this sit too long and get worse.
My next question to him was about payment. There's a cost anywhere between $1400 and $1800 for all of this! Who has that kind of money sitting around?!
This vet doesn't accept payment plans. I also have the world's worst credit right now because of the lack of work right now, so CareCredit won't work with me. I barely had enough money to cover the emergency appointment and his antibiotics today!
So here's my plea: help me pay for my dog's surgery. Please. He's my sweet old puppy. I don't want him to be in pain.
I know we're all hurting for money right now, but Pepper is so important to me. I've been a mess since finding out how badly I've failed him here.
If by some miracle I surpass my goal, all extra funds will go to the vet to help pay for anyone else who can't afford their vet bills.
