On Sunday, June 9, Karleigh and was taking Riley to church to leave for camp when she was involved in a serious car accident. Karleigh had all three kids in the car, Riley (8), Rayleigh (5), and Levi (3).
Riley suffered severe brain injuries. He fought hard for several days but ultimately the injury was too extensive and he was not able to recover. On June 14, Riley went to be with the Lord.
Riley brought so much joy to everyone he knew. Our memories with Riley will live on forever and we can only find comfort knowing that he is now playing in Heaven, probably wearing his boots! Riley will provide life-giving organs to other children to spread his joy into the future. His legacy will live on for years to come.
Rayleigh suffered a fractured skull and brain injuries as well. She is making significant progress in her rehabilitation and we are praying for and expecting a full recovery. She will remain at Children's Hospital for the time being.
Levi suffered a broken arm but has been so brave and strong.
The family will have significant medical and funeral expenses. All money will be given to the family for financial needs. Your support, thoughts, and prayers have truly been appreciated and felt! Please continue to pray for the family during this extremely difficult time, for Rayleigh’s recovery, and for Levi’s arm to heal.
