Ba Vi Medical Program
Donation protected
I am a volunteer at a disability centre and orphanage in the Ba Vi Province of Northern Vietnam. The Centre is frankly quite appalling and its residents are subject to numerous human rights violations on a daily basis. We have about 360 children, aged from newborn to late twenties living in 7 rooms. All of the children are either orphaned, abandoned, physically disabled or mentally disabled. The children have no access to medical care for their illnesses or disabilities and as such are either completely immobile or die as a result of untreated illness. These deaths, and lives spent trapped inside a body could be reduced and the pain potentially alleviated if we could get funding together to run a medical program. Up until this point, volunteers have been funding and faciliating trips to a hospital 2 hours away for diagnosis and treatment of the children. Doing this out of our own pockets is not sustainable in the long term and we are hoping to get community support to assist us in getting these beautiful, resilient children some medical care so as to possibly make their little lives a tiny bit better for the time they are with us. We aim to be able to employ a medical professional to work exclusively at the Centre so we dont have to travel long trips with sick children to get help. We would also like to be able to provide basic medical care to the kids on a day to day basis. Anything you can give will be appreciated more than you can understand.
