Funeral support for the Burridges

Our loving and devoted Mother Linda is soon to leave this world before her time at the age of 58.

 

Mum has been our rock for our whole lives, caring for us and spending all of her time as a full-time carer for our sister who has Downs Syndrome, and our brother who has multiple disabilities including Autism.

 

Three months ago, Mum told us she had a sore back, which gradually got worse and worse, which lead to multiple hospital visits and misdiagnoses.

 

Two weeks before Christmas Mum finally received an MRI which revealed she had been struggling with a broken back. Further tests showed that this was a result of malignant tumours which had spread to other organs, most significantly her lungs.

 Our Dad, who works full time as truck driver for Cleanaway to support the family, had to take leave from work so he could take on all the responsibilities of the house, look after our siblings, and look after Mum while she was in hospital.

 

On Christmas Day Mum was moved out of the hospital and into palliative care. Since then her decline has been very fast.

 

All of this has been devastating for our family, and has been so sudden. When the staff handed Dad papers for funeral homes we didn’t know what to do. We would never have thought we would have to deal with something like this so soon.

 

Mum does not have a funeral fund, and with Dad not working, but still having to pay for medical bills, and household bills, we would really appreciate any help you could offer us to help with funeral costs and keeping life as stable as we possibly can for our neurodivergent siblings through this difficult time.
