Benedictine University holds as a chapter of the Thaakat Foundation. Thaakat Foundation is a non-profit organization that primarily focuses on humanitarian initiatives and charitable projects aimed at improving the lives of people in need, particularly in developing countries.

Thaakat Foundation, is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing educational opportunities for underprivileged children and youth globally. Partnering with Idara Al Khair, the foundation runs six schools in the most impoverished areas of Karachi, Pakistan. These campuses cater to students of all ages, including an all-girls school, elementary through high-school institutions, and colleges. Their collective goal is to provide students with a genuine opportunity for quality education, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in their future endeavors. Through scholarships, school funding, and educational programs, the foundation strives to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for a brighter future. Thaakat Foundation's commitment to education extends beyond basic literacy, encompassing initiatives that promote skill development, access to technology, and lifelong learning. By investing in education, the foundation aims to break the cycle of poverty and empower communities to build sustainable futures filled with opportunity and promise.

At DREAMS, thousands of families live in the strewn and burning mountains of waste, in the city’s largest landfill in Karachi, Pakistan. Many of these families work in the landfill in order to survive. Since 2012, Thaakat has been tirelessly dedicated to granting these communities access to free education and healthcare. Across our six campuses, students receive a high education, complete with libraries, computer labs, STEM programs, playgrounds, and sports fields—fulfilling every student's aspirations.
