NOLA COVID-19 Undocumented Worker Fund
Donation protected
As we collectively feel the impact of this global crisis, community members without access to government resources are at immediate risk. The NOLA COVID-19 Undocumented Worker Fund (UWF) will serve individuals and families through direct financial assistance.
The need is massive and urgent. We’re asking those who can to contribute their entire stimulus check to immigrants in the NOLA area who were left out of the government’s response to COVID-19. We also encourage people who earned above the threshold for receiving stimulus checks to contribute in a similarly meaningful way (around $1,200). These donations will go directly to our immigrant neighbors to support them in the face of new and already existing challenges.
If you are not in a position to donate your entire check, donations of any amount matter! Every $5 or $10 counts.
This is an unprecedented time for all of us, and we can only get through it together.
Fund Access and Process
To avoid weighing peoples' situations against one another, and rooted in the idea that everyone is deserving of support, community members will be eligible for funds on a "first-come, first-serve" basis.
Individuals will be eligible for a one-time payment of $200. Families of two people will be eligible for a one-time payment of $300. Families of 3+ people will be eligible for a one-time payment of $400.
We are prioritizing families who do not have access to unemployment benefits, food stamps, medicaid, pending stimulus assistance, rental vouchers, and/or other government programs, and will be distributing funds using Venmo, Western Union, and Xoom among other methods. Access to technology and/or banking is not necessary to receive funds.
Undocumented Families can complete a short Google Form to request assistance:

We have already received over 500 requests from families in the greater New Orleans area. To distribute money to every family, we will need to raise over $200,000.
