Mary's Sunshine Fund

My name is Mary Conley and I reside in the Village of Bath, New York and am the devoted mother of three sons.  Unfortunately, I had to leave my nursing career after 20 years of service at the Bath VA due to cancer.  At this time, I am reaching out to the community,friends and family for continued support and prayers.  I was diagnosed in April 2013 with intrapancreatic bile duct adenocarcinoma.  I had the whipple surgery in Rochester, New York to remove the mass, a portion of the small intestine and part of my stomach.  This major surgery also removed the head of my pancreas, some lymph nodes and gall bladder.  In conjunction with 2 more surgeries due to complications, I had to proceed with aggressive chemotherapy (Gemzar) and traditional radiation.  I then was blessed to be in remission. 
In May 2015, I was overwhelmed with severe pain and after a pet scan was completed, the cancerous mass had reoccurred.  My Dr. placed me on aggressive chemotherapy and unfortunately, I have had numerous hospitalizations trying to fight this illness.  My next step is pin-point radiation and Strong Memorial does not have the resources to perform this.  I will have to receive this specialized therapy in Somerset, New Jersey and this may last for up to 12 weeks.  The lodging affiliated with the treatment center is very expensive and it's too cumbersome to drive as I will be receiving radiation 5 days a week.  I am reaching out to you at this time to possibly assist with the overwhelming medical expenses, travel expenses, food and lodging.  Thank you in advance.  NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!!!!
