Hi everyone,
This is Heather. I am married to Corey and have two wonderful doggies. We've recently moved back to Idaho from Seattle to 'slow down' and focus on Us. It's been a great decision thus far; my husband found Jesus and I have been rekindled, and our relationship has taken a wonderful turn for the better.
A couple of months into our new life here in Idaho, I passed out and fell in a restaurant lobby. I hit my head very hard and had a seizure right there in front of the host stand. I was wheeled out by the paramedics and taken to the E.R.. A few hours, a blood test, and a CT scan later, I left the hospital after a long 4 hours that night with no concussion.
I should probably mention at this point, when we moved my health insurance I had in Seattle cancelled me as our move to Idaho put me out of their coverage jurisdiction. Of course, now something happens to me, Yay...
So, we assumed that because I was very ill the couple days before this dramatic event, malnourishment and dehydration caused me to pass out causing me to fall and hit my head. Thus a siezure was induced.
Low-and-behold, just about a month later, I was watching TV in bed with the husband and apparently I rolled over and had another siezure right next to him. Out of the blue. Per my husband's father who is a doctor, he recommended we meet with a family doctor he knows to look at other possible causes. So, another blood test and an EEG brainwave scan later, still nothing wrong.
So we just went in for an MRI and it came back showing early signs of atrophy in the Cerebral and Cerebellar areas. So at this point and thousands of dollars later within just a few months, we still have more tests and diagnosing to do.
There are some big diseases like Alzheimers and MS along with simply long-term malnourishment as possible causes. To top it off, as I mentioned previously, no insurance probably until January 2016. We were blessed to receive some support from the hospital's charity, but all of this still has a huge price tag that we simply cannot cover having just moved to another state.
We aren't sure what is to come yet but already the bills are piling up. We will update you all as we find out more, but any help any of you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
