Emergency Surgery & recovery

Friends,
Those of you who know me well, know my story. But for those who do not, you can watch it here: https://twitter.com/NNUBonnie/status/1232365957626023936?s=20
I was diagnosed with diabetes at age 10 and have struggled with the disease for years. Many of you helped me in 2017, when I first put up a GoFundMe page, when I lost part of my foot to this awful disease. Even though I was working full time as a hair stylist, I could barely afford to pay my health insurance let alone afford my insulin. Like so many, I feared walking into the hospital because I had no idea how I would ever afford to pay the bill, despite the fact that my life quite literally depended on it. I shared my extremely private struggle with National Nurses United and Ady Barkan’s Be a Hero project to help others, to advocate for Medicare For All, so that no one else ever finds themselves in the position I was in, the position I find myself in again today, unable to afford life-saving medical treatment, despite working full time and overpaying for inadequate insurance. Yet again, I have no idea how I will pay the hospital bill, let alone afford my recovery without any paid sick time. I am painfully aware that my situation is far, far too common in this country. As difficult and painful as it is to have to share such private information publicly, I am reaching out to ask for your help. Please know how much I deeply appreciate your help as I struggle for my own survival.
