Housing for homeless WOMEN Veterans
Tax deductible
Sandy served 12 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, then 4 years as a Peace Officer, and has now created another avenue to further serve her community. It was not that long ago when the devastating news of a medical discharge from the Air Force was eminent for her. The uncertainty and stresses of her career prematurely ending was difficult to say the least. Depression, worthlessness, failure, physical ailments, anger, despair, and suicidal thoughts plagued her daily after being discharged as she was told repeated by civilian employers that she was “overqualified” for many jobs, including the same jobs she held in the military. Due to Sandy’s prior military medical condition, her law enforcement career was short lived. Upon her son’s graduation from high school she moved to California in pursuit of a career in real estate. Sandy obtained her real estate license and uses a portion of her commissions from real estate sales to take massive action on actualizing her supersized dream of starting a nonprofit to help women veterans regain stability after military service. As the founder of Operation WEBS, Sandy is now providing sustainable housing solutions to those facing homelessness.
I'm ETERNALLY GRATEFUL, and with every fiber and strength I can muster in my able body, I will pay it forward!
Message to my sisters:
So to my Battles out there struggling to find your footing, the stability you once had in the military, this message is for you... Please know you are NOT ALONE!! Our tag line on OPWEBS logo says "Welcome Home Women Veterans" for a reason. Operation WEBS Women Empowered Build Strong wants to be your bridge!!
Here's what I know... Still today, fourteen years later, there are female Veterans having worse experiences than I did.
“From 2016 to 2017, the number of homeless female veterans increased by 7 percent, compared with 1 percent for their male counterparts.” Military.com | By Jim Absher 28 Mar 2018

Operation WEBS Women Empowered Build Strong (OPWEBS) announces the launch of the first and only WOMEN Veterans Stability HOME on the Central Coast, California! At our newly opened 4 bedroom home, we welcomed our FIRST Veteran Sister, who moved in after living in the local shelter for years. As of yesterday, 3/25/19, we could not be happier to share that our incoming female Veteran resident will be with us by the end of March, 2019! Welcome Home Women Veterans!
At OPWEBS, our mission is to create a sustainable tiny home on wheels (THOWs) Farming Eco-village Community for women Veterans who are displaced or homelessness. Our vision is to develop a self-sustaining, eco-friendly, vibrant farming community which offers the empowerment, enrichment, independence, comradery, and security that our Veteran heroines deserve and desperately need to aid in their successful transition to civilian normalcy after military service.
As an aid in transitioning to civilian life, the goal of our farming community is to bridge the gap for a large majority of female Veterans experiencing traumas, despair, and financial burdens (to name a few) making it difficult for them to secure stable housing for themselves. OPWEBS is offering a sustainable solution to our present-day affordable housing crisis.
Our Farming Eco-village Community has goats, chickens, bunnies, surrounding wildlife, gardens of fruits and veggies, various building projects to include tiny homes on wheels, various craft projects, and various outside services - provided by other local non-profits as well as Veteran Service Organizations. It's designed to be a true community where we can feel safe to share our experiences. A community where new chapters can be written in her life story, and where rebuilding can take place over a 2 year (or longer if desired) span. A community where she can feel confident to lead a refreshed and restored life once again, knowing she has lifelong support from her Battle cheering her on. It is our goal at Operation WEBS to bring awareness to the rapidly increasing rate of female Veteran homelessness after military service and to connect them with resources available around the Central Coast Community.
Please help us to bridge the gap out of homelessness for our sisters, daughters, moms, grandmas, and girl-friends who served and sacrificed for our safety at home! We all have a story, I just want mine to help someone open to receiving help.
WE ARE TOTALLY INVESTED AND FULLY COMMITTED TO THIS DREAM!!!
So what's OPWEBS plan for your donation?
Your donation will be used to make the buildsite usable throughout the year, especially during inclement weather, provide the experience for our volunteers to be able to come for a build and stay a weekend or week in tiny on site cabins to minimize their expense while volunteering, and be an extension to the Stability home in Orcutt when the time comes.
Usable How?
First Priority- PERMITS: Grading and Heavy equipment for clearing and grading the landscape to allow for:
1) Tiny cabins where our volunteers will stay during any build
2) Workshop where the THOWs will be assembled.
3) Female Veteran Farming Village Community
Did I mention.... WE ARE TOTALLY COMMITTED TO MATERIALIZING THIS SUPERSIZED DREAM!!!
We are so very grateful for ALL the volunteers who have come out to the property so far and whose hard work has made a major impact on our progress so far. Here are just a few quick shout outs...
Tiny Homes of Ventura County
Reins of H.O.P.E.
Vandenberg Air Force Base Airmen, civilians, and retirees
Local volunteers who came weekends on end to down dead trees and split wood
It truly takes a village to develop this village!

Lastly, the encouragement and support of one of the most impactful, generous, and beyond loving families I have the honor to be amongst on an almost daily basis and to mention every chance I get, my beloved Blanco Family!!
PB & Associates Real Estate and Home Loan Services welcomed me into their team of REALTORS and Loan Officers in 2017. I have the honor of saying it has truly been an absolute privilege to glean from them ALL!! They continuously pick me up and brush me off, saying "it's ok Mija, you can do this" :) From the mere mention of my very AMBITIOUS DREAM, they were all on board with donations totaling over $1,000, a rummage sale, raffle sales and not to mention the Inaugural Tiny House Gala which could have NEVER been so successful without their support, strength, guidance, network, passion and mucho love of all military and Veterans.
I'm forever grateful!!!!
From all of us at Operation WEBS, THANK YOU for your time, consideration, compassion, and generosity!!
