Put Kids in the National Parks

"Wilderness is not a luxury, it is a necessity of the human spirit" E. Abbey
I was introduced to the wilderness in the late 1970's and my life has never been the same. Now, as an educator, I feel that one of the most important things that I can do is to introduce my students to the same. This year we have the opportunity for a grand adventure. Moultrie Middle School students are headed for Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. We will be spending six days in May in the parks with our cameras. May is an amazing time to be in a place that has such abundant wildlife, wild life photographers will travel with us through the entire trip helping us capture our experiences.
The wilderness is the world's best classroom and we will use it to it's fullest. We will spend time at the Wolf and Grizzly Center with wildlife biologists, and time with naturalists and ecologists from Yellowstone. We will be traveling with certified science, language arts, history and art teachers. And each of our days will end around a campfire journaling about what we have experienced during the day.
With your help we can help these kids get to Wyoming, where their lives will be changed by the experiences that they will have there. This money will help provide funds for travel, and supplies for the journey.
Thank you,
Claire Teuber
"Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life." John Muir
