Funeral Expenses for Linda Jordan
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Chuck Jordan and my beautiful wife Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in April of 2013. She underwent aggressive treatment for the cancer and we were both relieved when told the treatment was working. Expenses mounted but knowing that she was recovering made the expenses seem insignificant.
Then we learned that the cancer had metastasized and spread to Linda's brain. You can't imagine how totally devastating this news was to both of us. I was amazed at Linda's strength as she went through radiation treatments to treat the brain cancer. Doctors reported that the treatment was working. While the news was encouraging, Linda was falling a lot and was not feeling well and we couldn't determine the cause. That is when the doctors discovered that the cancer had spread to her spinal fluid.
Doctors no longer hold out hope for Linda's recovery. She is receiving twice weekly chemo injections into her spine. This will not cure the cancer but is being done in an effort to give her a better quality of life for the time she has left, which her doctors advised us today that instead of months it is now a matter of days to one or two weeks.
I continue to be in awe of Linda as she tries to help all of us who love her prepare to live without her. Family and friends continue to be supportive and this support is needed and appreciated by both of us. Everyone keeps asking how they can help, so I created this web page. While medical bills have depleted most of our financial resources, we have been able to keep up with them fairly well until now. We still owe a few thousand dollars and I am sure this amount will grow as Linda's treatments continue.
Unfortunately, when Linda left her job with the State of West Virginia, she could not continue her life insurance. Because of pre-existing conditions, she could not obtain life insurance anywhere else. With no life insurance, no savings remaining, and outstanding medical bills, I have no idea how I will be able to pay for Linda's funeral and burial expenses.
If you would like to help, any donation would be most welcome. We will continue to fight this horrible disease, pray for a miracle, and cherish each moment we share together.
UPDATE: on 3/29/2014 at 1:30 p.m. Linda lost her battle with cancer. She fought all the way but it was to much for her. I would like to thank everyone for the donations.
