We care deeply about the health and wellness of clients and staff; we need your help. Last August, Coach Kyle began noticing some changes. At the time, he reported feeling “foggy and lower than normal energy levels.” He saw a specialist who offered injections to help adjust some hormone levels and developed horrible side effects.
In the weeks and months to come, his mental and physical condition continued to decline. His symptoms escalated, feelings of not being able to walk, incapable of working out, muscle spasms, major decline in cognitive function, tremors, speech impairment and just an overall sense of emotional distress. Eventually Kyle struggled to send a simple text message and was told not to drive.
He was in and out of Vanderbilt’s emergency room, was hospitalized, undergoing MRI’s, other image testing, blood work etc. He saw endocrinologists and neurology specialist and still no conclusive diagnosis. Can you imagine how scary this was for him? And to make matters worse, his follow up appointment with Vanderbilt was 6 weeks past his release from the hospital. Say what??
One of our amazing clients took measures into her own hands, made some calls and was able to get Kyle into see one of the best internal medicine Dr’s in the Nashville area. He landed an appointment the day after strings were pulled and a diagnosis was made; Kyle suffers from B6 toxicity.
If you’re like me you’ve never heard of B6 toxicity; it’s awful and causes horrible, neurological side effects!! Kyle is expected to see full recovery but it could be a while. Although his cognition and speech are almost back to normal, he’s still struggling to stand for longer than 30 minutes without extreme fatigue and still experiences muscle spasms.
Anyone who has ever received a hospital bill knows how that sticker shock feels. Even with insurance, he will have quite the financial hill to climb. We kindly ask you to consider offering a donation on his behalf .
