Cooper Roberts Family ADA Home & Ongoing Needs
Donativo protegido
This second GoFundMe created by the friends of the Roberts Family focuses on the very immediate need to establish a new, ADA-accessible home for Cooper and major ongoing medical needs and expenses. The new home must be completely renovated with ADA adaptations so Cooper can receive at-home therapy and access anywhere he needs in the home. Cooper will also need ongoing medical care, physical therapy and treatments, a new wheelchair and equipment almost every year (he is a young and growing boy), and additional support. This is a lifetime commitment for the Roberts family requiring the ability to continually meet extraordinary and increasing expenses.
Before the morning of July 4, 2022, Cooper was an 8-year-old boy who did what so many other 8-year-old boys do: he played sports, wrestled with his twin brother, loved dancing to all music - especially country - and looked forward to finding out what 3rd grade would be like. But when a mass shooting took place in the crowd gathered to watch the July 4th Independence Day parade in Cooper's hometown of Highland Park, IL, his life was changed forever.
Since that time, medical professionals have determined that Cooper will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Cooper needs a home that can meet his physical, and as he grows, changing needs. Cooper is a brave young man, and although his and his family's lives have been changed in unimaginable ways, they continue to fight on with incredible courage and grace. Gifts contributed to this fund will be specifically used for an ADA-accessible home and therapy equipment.
Every single donation of any amount makes a difference. Equally important please like and share - even if you can't donate, please like and share. Together, we can #BringCooperHome #BringLukeHome :)
