Celeste Fight Against Cancer

Celeste’s Cancer Story

Family and friends, we are starting this go fund me to help ease the financial burden for Celeste as she embarks on her battle with cancer.  Celeste recently had her first mammogram and was diagnosed with breast cancer on December 16, 2019, just three days before her 46th birthday.  This is devastating news to this SINGLE mom of three awesome young boys: Ian (age 16), Mason (age 14), and Gavin (age 9) who mean the WORLD to her.  She is a loving, hardworking, and unbelievably strong mom who puts her sons first.  She is a Fort Pierce, FL native who has lived in CA the past 23 years.

The initial diagnosis was that she would have a lumpectomy, and a month later, she would need four weeks of radiation for five days a week.  During the lumpectomy, the surgeon discovered that the cancer spread to her lymph nodes.  She also had a CT done, which showed a spot on her liver.  She is having a MRI done today to determine if the spot on her liver is also cancer. Unfortunately, her cancer is much more aggressive than originally thought, which has tremendously changed her treatment plan.  The oncologist determined that it would be in her best interest to fight this cancer by doing five months of two different types of chemotherapy, followed by six to eight weeks of radiation.  Chemo will start on February 18th, and she will be in a chair for five hours for each session.

Because of this, she is currently unable to work and will not  be returning  for at least another 6 months.  She has been with her employer for 23 years, and has only called in sick three times.  She has not received any compensation from her employer while being on leave.  Cancer itself is a HUGE burden, but now she has the burden of supporting herself and her three precious boys while fighting the BIGGEST fight of her life.

Now, it is time for us to send our love, prayers, and support as she fights this long battle.   Please keep Celeste and our family in your prayers.  If you are able to help financially, every little bit helps and is truly appreciated.  We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Please let this be a lesson to us all and get your first mammogram at age 40, or earlier if you have a history of breast cancer in your family.  Because Celeste puts the needs of others before her own, she did not get her first mammogram until her younger sister, Mitzi, urged her to get one.  God will see US through this, and Celeste will KICK CANCER’S ASS!!!
