The Pavlich Family
Donation protected
Saturday night October 23rd is a night no one in the horse community ever wants to be faced with. The Pavlich family of Montrose, Colorado awoke to their beloved new barn on fire. Unfortunately, the four horses inside: three show horses and a trail horse were lost. Along with the loss of the horses the Pavlich family lost their tractor, lawn mowers, tools anything that is commonly found on a ranch. All horse supplies were lost as well. The Western Slope Reining Horse Association was having their year-end Buckle Bonanza show at the Montrose County Fairground and Sunday the whole family was going to participate from the lead line to the non-pro classes. This set up the perfect storm, Saturday night and Sunday brought the first winter storm to the town and because of the inclement weather that was expected Sunday morning the family unloaded all their tack into the barn Saturday night so they could saddle up and get ready for show day inside out of the weather. Nothing can replace the lives that were taken and yes tack, tractors and supplies can be replaced but the Western Slope Reining Horse Association and Grand Junction Horse Show Association, two clubs the family are active in on the Western Slope, would like to ask the horse community to come to together and show support to a family that had the unimaginable happen.
Thank you
