Somaliland Drought Relief

As we prepare for Ramadan by stocking our pantries with food, others go without basic necessities such as water. Our donation can help make a tremendous difference in the lives of those impacted by droughts.

Multiple dry seasons have resulted in a severe water shortage and an alarming food price crisis. Somaliland citizens are in dire need of water, food, and medical supplies in the short term, with about 1.2 million people being affected in six different regions. The situation is alarming without urgent humanitarian support. It could be particularly catastrophic given that the local rural communities were already struggling with severe water shortage, desert locust and Coronavirus. This drought has resulted in people suffering from diseases related to poor water quality and malnutrition due to food scarcity. More lives will be lost, and more people will be displaced without basic access to water, food and medical supplies.
