Before we jump in.
This go fund me link was created after much hesitation after receiving a special comment on a recent Instagram post suggesting that I creat a go fund me link due to so many wonderfully kind people that have supported me on my social media platform, but wanted to be able to give more support.
For me, I never intended to use my Instagram platform for this reason (a go fund me page).
The love and supportive messages I receive keeps men strong and to be honest I was overwhelmed by the idea of making this link.
I started to document my health and it’s unknowing decline in the hope that It would help others. Even just one person.
I fell poorly 3 years ago.
Before falling so poorly. I was able bodied, independent with dreams probably far to unrealistic. But I have never been the type to quit. Although many of times I have been at rock bottom and pleading with myself to carry on.
January 2019 the first month of my 51/2 month admission and the first diagnosis, I could feel myself loosing myslef.
Dreaming stopped as I lay in bed while drs scratched at their heads as to what was going on.
“My gosh, you are complex” they would say, before referring me to yet another specialist.
Scared and terrified as rare diagnosis after rarer diagnosis rolled their way into my “new” life.
In November 2019 I almost lost my life.
I was given 5% chance of pulling through and my family were called home from Singapore and prepped for the worst as I was placed into an induced coma in ITU with septic shock, a PE and respiratory failure.
I did pull through. But my health nose dived even further and along came more complex diagnosis.
I was scared, alone and couldn’t find anything similar on any other platform that I could relate to. So I decided to document my own journey.
Not just for myself, but in the hope that if i could help just one person, then to me, my pain had a purpose.
I am 26. I turn 27 on the 19th of March.
Life is precious.
Life is beautiful, despite its struggles. Find the light in the darkness and keep on going.
Please do not feel obligated to donate. Because like I mentioned. I did not start documenting my struggles in the hope of pity. Purely for the fact If I could help just one person not feel the way I did (scared and alone) when I was stripped of my ability to walk, eat, drink and do the basic humanly functions such as urinate etc. Then to me, everything I was / still am going through is worth it.
But shall not lie. I say I am not a quitter, but many of times I have had to drag myself back up from rock bottom and not quit.
Because my “new” life is hard. My body is a full time job.
I am never out of pain. I don’t remember what it feels like to be pain free. Or not to be connected to copious lines 24hrs a day to keep me alive.
I have multiple progressive, some non curable diagnosis. which is heart breaking. So to know that I have so much love and support on my platform means the world.
And dare I say, many of you without knowing have saved me.
I am so grateful for each and everyone of you that follows my journey. Whether you find it helps you with your own struggles or whether you are sending love and supportive messages.
Know I am fighting. Thanks to you.
Love always.
