Oakley Needs your help

Hi, my name is Erin and I'm fundraising for my dog Oakley. Oakley is 8 years old and a German Shorthair Pointer and unfortunately has torn her CCL ligament (ACL). As a lot of you know she LOVES to run but at the end of April she started to limp, and her right back leg went from a partial tear to a complete tear quickly. I adopted Oakley from a rescue back in 2017 and she has brought so much happiness into my life. Oakley didn’t have the best start in life and was sized in the backyard of a home with her sister Primrose due to neglect. She was HW positive, riddled with worms and had severe anxiety. The rescue got her healthy and has been the highlight of my life ever since. If you aren’t sure what a CCL tear is or why it is important to have fixed, I’ll explain. A CCL tear is the same as an ACL tear in humans. The ligament connects from the back of the dog’s femur and wraps around to the front of the tibia. When it ruptures or tears it can permanently affect a dog’s ability to walk, stand and run. There are two types of surgery to correct it A TPLO or a lateral suture repair. She will be getting the later. The cost is $3,400. I have put down a small deposit already for her surgery and I am asking for your help in raising a little over half the cost. No amount is too small to contribute. She will receive the surgery at Trinity Animal Hospital on John’s Island. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you have. Thank you so much.
