Help a Small Business Recover From a Robbery

Hi.
My name is Ethan Wang and my parent's names are Sara Wang and John Kang. They immigrated from Taiwan in their twenties and have worked their entire lives to make a place for themselves in America. They opened a restaurant in West Windsor, New Jersey called Hot Wok Cafe and have kept it open for 25 years. My mother is now 63 and my father is 65. I want to see them retire but they continue to work themselves to the bone.
On March 6th, 2024, my parents' home was burglarized at around 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. The culprit entered our home by going into our backyard and smashing the glass of our backdoor. They stole many valuable items including the most important:
- Sentimental heirloom jewelry from Taiwan that my grandmother had given to my mother.
My grandmother currently has dementia and is unable to recognize my mother. These pieces of jewelry were one of the only things she had to remember her by.
- A large amount of cash earnings from their business.
This is crippling for them as they now need to run their business at a loss.
It absolutely breaks my heart to see my parents being robbed of their hard-earned valuables, which is why I am opening a fundraiser to recuperate a portion of what they lost. While the personal effects that they had stolen are worth so much more in both their monetary and sentimental value, this donation goal will help them get back up on their feet, and give them so much more hope, knowing that there is a community there to support them.
Any amount donated will mean the world to my parents and myself. Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story.
