Buy a new wheelchair

Hi, Rob here. First of all, I would like to thank you for showing interest in my appeal.

Now, I love our NHS. For over 10 years now, they've looked after my legs twice a week. But, despite their best, brilliant efforts, my mobility issues are slowly deteriorating. I'm now, sadly, at the point where, in order to leave the house at all. I need a set of wheels. Ultimately, I would like to persuade the DWP to allow me PIP mobility payment at the higher level, enabling me to get a scooter through the Motability scheme. In the meantime, however, it would just be nice to be able to get to the local shops, something I have not been able to do for the last 5 years. For that to happen, I need a wheelchair like the one in the video linked here. My GP has referred me to our local NHS wheelchair service but there is a near 12 month waiting list for an initial assessment. But, if I can reach my target, that will allow me to get the chair in the video along with the kit - bag, crutch holder, wet weather gear, etc. - to start getting out and about again.
