Ayudame A Ganar La Batalla Contra El Cancer!!!

Mi nombre es Pedro Gil, tengo 51 años, soy venezolano y actualmente resido en Miami junto a mi esposa y mis dos hijas desde el año 2016.

En mayo del año 2019, después de experimentar un par de pancreatitis y una obstrucción biliar, recibí un devastador diagnóstico: un tumor maligno en la cabeza del páncreas. Afortunadamente, gracias a un procedimiento llamado whipple, los médicos pudieron extirpar el tumor y eliminar la cabeza del páncreas, así como la vesícula, el conducto biliar y una parte del intestino delgado. La operación fue un éxito, pero sabía que mi batalla contra el cáncer apenas comenzaba. En septiembre del mismo año, me sometí a 6 sesiones de quimioterapia para asegurarme de eliminar cualquier residuo maligno en la zona de la cirugía.

Durante los siguientes 2 años y medio, me sometí a controles y chequeos médicos cada seis meses, y todo parecía ir bien. Sin embargo, a mediados del año 2022, una nueva preocupación surgió cuando encontraron nódulos sospechosos en mis pulmones, indicando que el cáncer de páncreas se había diseminado. Se realizaron procedimientos adicionales, como la broncoscopia y la biopsia pulmonar, que confirmaron esta dura realidad.

Una vez más, me sometí a un tratamiento de quimioterapia similar al anterior, y los resultados iniciales fueron positivos, con una reducción en el tamaño de los nódulos pulmonares.

En mayo de 2023, lamentablemente recibí noticias desalentadoras: los nódulos en mis pulmones estaban creciendo nuevamente, lo que significaba que debía enfrentar otra vez el proceso de quimioterapia. Sin embargo, esta vez el médico me recetó un nuevo cóctel de medicamentos que se supone es un poco más tolerable que el anterior, especialmente para mi sistema gástrico. Gracias a ello, hasta el momento no he sufrido de náuseas, diarreas u otros trastornos molestos del sistema digestivo, lo cual es un alivio.

No obstante, a pesar de esta ventaja, el tratamiento me ha causado mucho malestar corporal. Esto ha tenido un impacto significativo en mi capacidad para trabajar y, lamentablemente, ha afectado gravemente la economía de mi familia. Luchar contra esta enfermedad se ha vuelto aún más desafiante debido al agotamiento y a los efectos secundarios del tratamiento.

Nuestra situación financiera se ha visto seriamente perjudicada, ya que los gastos médicos se acumulan, y además, hemos tenido que invertir en un tratamiento con un nutricionista y suplementos adicionales para ayudarme a sobrellevar el cóctel de quimioterapia y combatir el cáncer.

Es con humildad y esperanza que he decidido crear este GoFundMe, buscando el apoyo de personas compasivas como ustedes. Cualquier contribución, sin importar su tamaño, será de gran ayuda para cubrir los costos médicos adicionales y aliviar la carga financiera que esta lucha contra el cáncer ha impuesto en mi familia.

My name is Pedro Gil, I am 51 years old, and I am Venezuelan, but I currently reside in Miami with my wife and two daughters since 2016.

In May 2019, after experiencing a couple of pancreatitis episodes and a bile duct obstruction, I received a devastating diagnosis: a malignant tumor in the head of the pancreas. Fortunately, the doctors were able to remove the tumor and the head of the pancreas through a procedure called whipple, along with the gallbladder, bile duct, and a portion of the small intestine. The surgery was successful, but my battle against cancer had only just begun. In September of the same year, I underwent 6 sessions of chemotherapy to ensure any remaining cancerous cells in the surgical area were eliminated.

Over the next 2 and a half years, I underwent regular check-ups every six months, and everything seemed to be going well. However, in mid-2022, a new concern arose when suspicious nodules were found in my lungs, indicating that the pancreatic cancer had metastasized. Additional procedures, such as bronchoscopy and lung biopsy, confirmed this harsh reality.

Once again, I underwent a similar chemotherapy treatment, and the initial results were positive, with a reduction in the size of the lung nodules.

In May 2023, I received discouraging news: the lung nodules were growing again, which meant I had to undergo chemotherapy once more. However, this time the doctor prescribed a new cocktail of medications that was supposed to be more tolerable for my digestive system. Thankfully, I have not experienced nausea, diarrhea, or other digestive discomforts so far, which is a relief.

Despite this advantage, the treatment has caused considerable physical discomfort. It has significantly impacted my ability to work and, unfortunately, has severely affected my family's finances. Dealing with this illness has become even more challenging due to exhaustion and the side effects of the treatment.

Our financial situation has been seriously affected as medical expenses continue to accumulate. In addition, we have had to invest in treatment with a nutritionist and additional supplements to help me cope with the chemotherapy cocktail and fight cancer.

With humility and hope, I have decided to create this GoFundMe, seeking the support of compassionate people like you. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be of great help to cover the additional medical costs and alleviate the financial burden that this battle against cancer has placed on my family.
