House Fire

On November 18 2019 my mother's house caught on fire. The fire originated in the basement of the home and threatened to make its way upwards. As I sit here thinking, I'm reminded of all of the countless families my parents have allowed to live in their home, having asked nothing in return from most of them...not just families but also random people in need of a place to stay. I can't think of a time where my parents personally turned away anyone. The news reported the smoke being so thick, "the firefighters couldn't make out the frame of the house". Smoke so thick my son jumped from the window of the house because he couldn't see his way out. My mother who doesn't have use of her legs was carried from the home by family. That night as my watched my mother being released from the hospital I was a bit taken back by her lack of tears. She's been in her house since 1970. I was a complete wreck. But here sat this pillar of strength before me. A praying woman. A woman who has walked with God for as long as I can remember. The glue that holds the family together...this woman. Sweet Jesus. When your house, your foundation is built on the ROCK! I'm fighting back tears y'all. When I think about what could have been. My very soul is crying out HALLELUJAH!! The house and all of its contents can be replaced but the lives spared that's a different story. God is STILL in the KEEPING business. Please keep my family in your prayers while they transition during this time. I'm asking for help because my mother's insurance company is now telling her that her house is to old to clover any transition expense so there for I have to pay out of pocket for a place to stay until I can take her back home to her house. I want to thank everyone in advance for you help and prayers because one day......This too shall pass.
