Dreaming of a Baby

My name is Jacquelyn and my husband Alex and I have known each other since we were in elementary school and always had a "crush" on one another. We eventually began dating when I was in high school and have been madly in love ever since. Alex ended up joining the Navy back in 2010 and at the time we were dating but as soon as he came back from A-School we got married and moved from our home state of Washington to Nebraska because we did not want to be apart any longer. As most married couples do we decided to start a family but after a year and a half of no success we began to worry and stress out. All of our friends were beginning families and it started to take an emotional toll on us. I began getting checked out to make sure that I could have children and after many tests I am in the all clear. All this time we were still trying but were still unsuccessful. We decided to just keep trying to start a family and continued to try for another year with no success. At this point Alex got checked out and it was determined he had a low sperm count, morphology, and motility. After the problem was looked into more in-depth, it was found that he had a varicose vein (varicocele) on the left side which was the likely cause for these problems. He ended up getting surgery to correct the varicocele. This improved his count to a normal number, but his motility and morphology are still very poor. We have been told the only way for us to have a child is to use ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) where the sperm is directly injected into the egg. The costs of this is astronomical though for us. No insurance plans cover infertility procedures. Alex and I have recently just moved back to Washington because he is getting out of the military and trying to become a police officer. We have saved money for a down payment on a house but we would love to add a baby to the mix. I cannot tell you how many nights I have spent dreaming of a baby for us and crying because this procedure is not affordable to us. It breaks our hearts and it's extremely hard for us to ask for help but in order to have the baby of our dreams we need to accept the kindness of strangers. Any help at all would be appreciated.
