Journey Home

This fundraiser is for me and my daughter to go to Upstate New York, clear across the country to see my family. Early Tuesday, February 13th my grandfather whom I was very close to, and was like a father to me, passed after many years on dialysis. He had a great Sunday, was happy, excited, and smiling with energy for the first time in a very long time. He enjoyed watching the game with my stepfather and said it was the best game he'd ever seen.

The next day dialysis wiped him right out, and he died in his sleep sometime in the late night, early morning. I'm not going to get into my disgust with his VA doctors, or their terrible advice over the years.

I've thought so much about him every day since he got sick a decade ago, and before he got sick, sending him heartfelt letters, making videos for him on his birthday, sending videos of my daughter, sending my daughter to see him last Christmas, and occasionally calling him, but I know he wasn't ever much for phones, so I had to respect that. I'm awkward too with those things.

Having a business here far away from my family, I was always working and only got to see him once in the last 8 years. Talking with my mother, my brother, and my stepfather the past couple days, I know I'm long overdue to go see them. I've never met my little nephew who's named after my grandfather.

The business isn't what it was before 2020, and now instead of time, it's funds that are preventing me to go see my family.

Please help us get there and back. Things have been slow lately, and I can't do it on my own. Thank You.
