Megan Strong ♥️
Megan began her journey on May 22, 2020 when she felt a lump in the left side of her neck. She had noticed a neck strain the week prior, but just attributed it to working out so much. When she presented to the emergency department on May 23, she left thinking she had a probable viral infection and was placed on steroids and antibiotics. She continued to have pain complaints and periods of fatigue and light-headedness. Megan's doctor ordered an ultrasound, which led to a CT scan and an ENT referral. Megan continued on antibiotics and another round of steroids when a needle biopsy result was inconclusive. Megan then had an open biopsy with the removal of two lymph nodes.
On July 8, 2020, Megan was diagnosed with Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, probable stage I or stage II. She is still waiting on some testing and scans to come back to confirm staging before she starts treatment. Regardless of staging, the cure rate is 80%. The oncologist wants to proceed with cycles of chemotherapy (twice a month) for a total of 6 cycles. This means she will have chemo every other week for the next 6 months.
Megan continues to work at Fit Body Boot Camp to the best of her ability. She is passionate about her clients and team and the positivity is the light that helps her through at this time.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, as Megan has a strong faith and this will give her comfort knowing she has people she cares about praying for her.
We have set up this page to help take some of the weight of medical bills off of Megan’s shoulders. Finances are one of the last things she should have to worry about as she continues on this journey, and chemotherapy/constant trips to Grand Rapids can get very expensive very fast. Hopefully, this will help with some of the stress Megan and her family are feeling during this time. She truly is such a selfless, kind, and caring person.
“MeganStrong” t-shirts are also being made toshow our love and support to Megan. Here is the link to order them. Orders are due August 6th.
