LETS GO NUTZ & BOOBIE BOUNCE FOR CANCER RESEARCH
Donation protected
Many of our Boogie Bounce family have been directly affected by this terrible disease and now its time to fight back!
Cancer affects all of us in one way or another and we wanted to support Breast Cancer, Prostate and Testicular charities in their amazing work, both in research, treatment, and end of life care.
It became all too clear how cancer affects us all with the passing of Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud who was only 39 and died from Breast cancer. Breast cancer mainly affects older women. Most breast cancers (80%) occur in women over the age of 50. And the older you are, the higher your risk but it can affect all ages. Many different things can affect your chances of getting breast cancer. There’s no single cause. It results from a combination of the way we live our lives, our genes, and our environment. No one can predict who will get cancer however precautionary measures can be put in place. Boogie Bounce is all about helping our clientele maintain a healthy weight and keep active, which are two of the measures that cancer experts suggest.
Boogie Bounce classes are predominantly attended by woman, but we do have men involved in classes as well as our male instructors. As Boogie Bounce classes are inclusive for men, woman, and children we at HQ felt it was important to support our male instructors and attendees paying particular attention to prostate and testicular cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. It usually develops slowly, so there may be no signs for many years. Fortunately, regular physical activity and exercise have a positive impact on health and prostate cancer.
