Isabella's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Isabella and I am fundraising to help pay for my health expenses. At 16, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called PCOS which stands for polycystic ovarian syndrome. In August of 2021, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that attacks my thyroid gland called Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Both of these conditions have significantly impacted my physical and mental health. Some of the symptoms I experience are extreme fatigue, extreme weight gain, mood swings, irregular menstrual cycles, skin rashes, excessive male pattern hair growth, high blood sugar, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, etc.
I am a college student working towards my degree in general science and I hope to one day become a doctor. I work 3 jobs and participate in research and play water polo. I have seen a large improvement in my symptoms when I am taking the supplements and medications my doctors suggest I take. I also have seen a large improvement when I am able to go to therapy and participate in physical activity like sports.
The reason I am asking for help is because my medical expenses are exceeding my monthly income. Being able to access healthcare that is necessary for me has changed my outlook on life and inspired me to want to help others in the future as a doctor. I don't want to go back to the debilitating symptoms I was experiencing before I was able to take these medications, go to therapy, and participate in sports. With your help, I pray that I won't have to. Thank you! For more information about both PCOS and Hashimoto's check out these videos below.
