Team Kim

We are Carlson Elementary and we are fundraising for our dear friend and colleague, Kim Shuck. Kim is a kindergarten teacher of 19 years. She is an incredible mother of 4 sweet children and a loving wife. On November 18, 2022 at 10:20 AM, Kim started feeling off. She started losing feeling in her left hand and left arm. She left her classroom under the care of her teammate and went to the nurse where she had a Grand Mal (tonic clonic) seizure that lasted about a minute. She was taken away by ambulance and learned that the seizure was due to a tumor on the right side of her brain. Kim had surgery on December 1st. The doctor was able to remove 99% of the tumor leaving behind a strand that could not be removed because it would have caused serious repercussions in the movement of her left leg. The tumor was found to be cancerous and aggressive. The plan is to start radiation treatments every day for 6 weeks starting in January along with chemotherapy pills for 5 days on 23 days off. Treatment is to last 6-12 months. Kim wants nothing more than to return to the classroom and to her "normal" extremely busy life as a mom of 4. Her hope is to teach while undergoing treatment. She is a strong, motivated, hard working woman that plans to fight this and kick cancer's butt. Please help her do this by donating what you can for this battle.
