Josh's Fight Against Cancer

Hello! I am Elizabeth Wisniewski, a family friend, and it was put on my heart to open a Go Fund Me for Josh & Danielle. They are both extroidnary people that are so kind, loving and humble. Josh has another big journey ahead of him. No one should ever have to go through this, let alone twice. I pray they feel the love and support wrapped around them from all of us. Any financial assistance is helpful as they will incur many costs with travel, places to stay, food, and medical bills. I will provide updates directly from Danielle. Here is the latest (5-4-23):
I’ve really hoped and prayed this day would never come. After a very chaotic, confusing, and emotional 5 weeks, we have gotten confirmation that Josh’s cancer is back. His tumor marker lab has been steadily increasing for the last 5 weeks, which is the first sign of a relapse. However, multiple CT scans, 2 MRI’s, an ultrasound, and a PET scan are all negative for any active cancer. This has stunned and confused his oncologist at Cleveland Clinic, who then ended up consulting with Dr. Einhorn at Indiana University Hospital for a second opinion. Dr. Einhorn is literally the best of the best when it comes to testicular cancer. He is responsible for discovering the cure for this cancer, and even treated Lance Armstrong during his cancer battle. Dr. Einhorn has chosen to take on Josh as a patient during this next round of treatment, as both doctors agree that Indiana is the best place for him at this time. We met with Dr. Einhorn yesterday to go over the plan. Josh will start chemo on Monday, which will continue over the next couple of weeks. Treatment will then switch to high dose chemotherapy, as well as an autologous stem cell transplant. It will be a very intense inpatient regimen where he will be in the hospital for 6-7 weeks.
We are still processing all of this, but we know he is in the absolute best hands possible at Indiana. His oncologist at Cleveland will also continue to follow along, who we trust 100% as well.
Please, please keep Josh in your prayers. Specifically, please pray that this chemo regimen will cure Josh 100% and we can put this journey behind us for good. Pray that his body will handle the treatment with minimal side effects, and that he will mentally stay strong as he endures yet another hurdle. And pray for his physicians and care team who will be monitoring Josh very closely during all of this. We know, without a doubt, that we have the BEST support system. We love you all and will keep you updated
