Salems Amputation

Hello, my name is Honor and this is my pretty girl Salem Sage. She is 5 years old and we share a birthday… July 10th. ♥️ I’ve had her for 3 1/2 years, prior to that she was my aunt who passed away from Covid’s cat.

I’d love to sit here and write a sweet paragraph about how much she loves people and how outgoing she is to hopefully convince people to donate to help her but I’d be lying. So to be honest she’s very shy and kind of a brat. She won’t approach a stranger but enjoys love and attention if you approach her. She loves our kids….. Remi carries her around in a baby doll carrier and she sleeps in bed with Cali every single night. But she loves me the most and vice versa, that’s my girl. Wherever I go Salem follows if I close a door on her she will scream until I open it. I’m not an animal person and I never will be but I really love this cat and if you know me you know that. Okay now that I’ve introduced my girl in what feels like a dating profile let me get to what happened.

Sae is an inside/outside cat. She sleeps and spends most of her days indoors but she likes to sit on the front porch in the chairs and bask in the sun. Friday night Salem went outside. Saturday afternoon we realized we hadn’t seen her since and she never came back in. We started searching for her but she didn’t come back home until Monday Night. When she got home she was limping unable to put and weight on her left leg it kinda just dangled and she had some road rash on her back she somehow wondered off and was hit by a car. I took her to the vet and $550 later I was told her arm was broken so badly she needs to have it amputated. ASAP because she’s in tremendous pain. Estimated to be $2,500 or so.

We have 4 kids. Our baby is only 2 months old so I’m just now going back to work. We survive just fine and live a normal life because we’re both hard workers but we just honestly don’t have $2,500 laying around. If you do, I want to be financially stable like you when I grow up…… but we’re just not there yet I guess. I thought if I surrender her to a rescue maybe they’ll be able to get her surgery and adopt her out when she was healed but I’ve called every rescue in central Florida they’re either full or will put her down. I just want to give her a chance to live. She’s so young and has so many more years to live out here with us and the kids we really, really love her so much. I’m humbly asking for donations towards her amputation surgery as time is of the essence with how bad this break is. Any amount will help us meet the goal and get her scheduled. ♥️
