Help Support my Trip to Kenya with EMI

The Lord has opened an exciting opportunity for me to go to Kenya this summer! I am going with a team of people from a ministry called Equipping Ministries International. EMI is focused on equipping people with practical skills to live in community and be in relationship with people as Jesus taught us to. We will be in Kenya June 17th-29th, primarily in Nairobi.
I first was connected with EMI because my aunt and uncle help to lead the ministry. I have seen firsthand the power of the skills the classes teach and the ways they practically demonstrate how to love people around us as Christ intended - through personal connection and truly listening to the hearts’ desires of others. As I have participated in the classes, my perspective has shifted to be more present with the Lord and His work in my heart and in the hearts of those around me. It is amazing to see how the Lord can work through practical skills and seemingly ordinary interactions to reach people’s hearts. As I have the opportunity to share these skills with others, I am excited to see how the Lord will use the content and skills EMI offers to impact our brothers and sisters in Kenya! I will be primarily helping to facilitate small groups as the students learn to apply the skills taught in the classes.
EMI has been invited by several Kenyan pastors to teach EMI’s core classes: Creating Connection, Deepening Connection, Handling Conflict, Renewing the Mind, and The Heart of Marriage. Over two weeks, we will be equipping Kenyan pastors and others from around the world on how to practice community like Jesus intended. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to share these life-changing tools with communities eager to learn and grow.
The Goal for the Students: We’re aiming to equip students from different nations to deepen their relationship with God, themselves, and others, to experience the abundant life of Jesus.
The Goal for the Team: Experience God in a new way while serving together as a team in a different culture.
The Goal for the East African Team: To be equipped to facilitate EMI materials at a deeper level, with the long-term goal of establishing an EMI Training Center in the region.
Would you consider partnering with me, through prayer and/or financially? I am looking to raise $2,700 for the trip. I would also appreciate your prayers for myself and the rest of the team leading up to and during the trip.
Ways to partner through prayer:
- Pray for me and the rest of the team as we prepare for the trip. Please pray especially for peace for me, as I learn to facilitate the materials.
- Pray that the team and I would walk each step with Jesus, experiencing more of His presence and receiving what He would have to teach us through this trip.
- Pray for unity amongst the EMI team and the Kenyan students, that cultural barriers would be removed, and cultural differences wouldn’t get in the way of hearts being impacted.
- Pray for the students, that their hearts would be open to receive from the Lord and that they would be encouraged and feel equipped both on a personal level and as they go back to their churches and minister in their circles of life.
