Val is waiting for a heart

Val is one of my oldest and dearest friends for over 30 years.   She is currently in Toronto waiting for a heart transplant.  Val had to leave her home which she recently purchased to move to Toronto. She has been there since June 2015.  She leaves behind her 12 year old son Peter who is her pride and joy.  Peter is staying with family in North Bay.  Although Val and Peter talk on the phone every day, they have very few personal visits due to financial costs involved and lack of transportation.  Val is no longer allowed to leave Toronto for visits.   After Christmas Val will be admitted to the hospital for the remainder of her wait for the transplant due to her failing health.  She will no longer able to work and will go on sick benefits which is only a percentage of her normal wages.  This will make finances more of a struggle for her.  She has a mortgage to pay along with the cost of raising her Peter.  We want to raise money so Val can have peace of mind about her finances and to help pay for the costs to have Peter visit her at this very important time.  They are miles apart and it is heartbreaking for both of them.   I am asking for your help to raise some money to keep this small family together as much as possible with little stress on Val.  This will also help her keep their home.    Please find it in your heart to help her in any way you can.
