Everybody Loves Raymond

Raymond Mullen, a 27 years old resident of Brigantine, New Jersey, was the victim of a horrific violent attack. On 15 Mar 19, following a long day of work, Raymond stopped by an acquaintance house, not feeling well, he fell asleep on a sofa. Two men at the house conspired to do him bodily harm. Without provocation and with no clear justification, they doused him with charcoal lighter fluid and lit him ablaze. When Raymond awoke, he was engulfed in flames while others watched and did nothing. He ran to the nearest door to flee his accusers. Outside, another offender laughed, “I’ll show you how it’s done, Dave” and drenched his back a second time with more lighter fluid. No way could Raymond defend himself and no one came to his rescue! Raymond dropped and rolled and attempted to drive from the house, but one of the offenders took his car keys and ridiculed him while he begged to return them. The keys were thrown at his scorched body. In severe agony, battling physical shock, Raymond managed to drive 40 minutes to his mother’s house. His devastated mother hurried him to the local hospital where he was immediately rushed via ambulance to a burn trauma center in center city Philadelphia. Raymond experienced 3rd degree burns devastating 30% of his body. Again, this heinous act was without provocation and no justification but a deliberate attempt to do bodily injury or kill.

Raymond suffers from severe burn trauma encompassing his entire back. His left arm is mangled and unusable. Unlike broken bones burn trauma leaves permanent scars and disfigurement that never heal. Raymond spent six weeks in critical and intensive care. He dropped 30 lbs., most of his muscle mass is gone and he suffers permanent nerve damage. His life has been permanently and forever altered. The attached pics show exactly what he is enduring.

Raymond’s body can no longer perspire or cool on its own. His blood pressure remains consistently high, 180/120, with pulse rates exceeding 170. Skin grafts from his thighs, and pig skin, cover his back and arms. He has had numerous surgeries with many more to go. He lost his range of motion in his left shoulder and arm and his grafted skin has contracted infection upon infection. One blood infection nearly ended his life! He cannot move his shoulder or arm without passive assistance.

Raymond once a vibrant, virile young man, worked as an apprentice for a HVAC company. He possesses strong mechanical skills, loves to work on cars or anything that can be taken apart and put together. He has a deep passion for the sport of motorcycle racing and was ranked as one of the top “A” class motorcycle racers on the east coast.

Today, Raymond is bed-ridden. His body disfigured and he is disabled. He shares a home with his mother and special needs brother. His mother took a leave-of-absence from her job to become the sole caretaker for Raymond. Both mother and son have a loss of earnings due to this horrific violent crime. To that extent, a “Go Fund Me” has been started to raise money on his behalf. Please show how much “Everyone loves Raymond” by contributing a generous donation to benefit his recovery. Any contribution will be deeply appreciated.
