Jill’s journey

Hi! You may or may not know me but I have some sad news to share. On June 14th of this year after over a month of my wife Jill suffering with constant pain in her lower back and on her right side, she was diagnosed with stage 3 agressive lymphoma. This came as a total shock as she thought she just had some lower back pain and pain on her right side where her kidneys are. After a long hospital stay and many Mris, catscans, and biopsies, the doctors ( oncologists) were very quick to start treatments immediately due to the severity of the pain she was having. We had no time to explore alternative options as the pain became more aggressive in her stomache and her spleen . The only option was to begin chemotherapy. This has been extremely hard on my family including myself, my amazing wife Jill and my two amazing kids Zach and Brayden. My wife has had her ups and downs weekly while going through chemo. I know my wife is a true fighter and has so many people supporting her and rooting for a speedy recovery. While treatments will last until November, she still has a long road ahead. She is determined to fight this fight until the end not only for herself but for her family. She desperately needs to focus on mentally staying positive and taking it easy. With that being said, insurance only covers some of the medical expenses that we have incurred so far. Medical prosthesis is not covered at all. There are many other unforeseen out of pocket expenses that may occur.
Originally I was very hesitant on creating this go fund me out of fear of how we would be perceived, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this journey so far is that we honestly cannot do this all alone. If you feel you want to donate any amount of money to help my family on this long journey ahead, we would really appreciate it. We thank you for allowing us to share our story.
A special thank you goes out to our cousin Eric Handler. Without him we wouldn’t be in the best hands and have the knowledge and support we have now. His constant love and a support never goes unnoticed.
Thank you to our family and friends for being so supportive during this difficult time.
With lots of love, Matt
