Restore the Bronco Bronco

Donation protected
Troy Howell was the ultimate Boise State Broncos fan. Every game he could, he joined the tailgate parties at Boise State with family and friends. To show his devotion to his school, he bought and painted "The Bronco Bronco", a 1984 Ford Bronco, and dedicated it to his love of BSU Sports, especially BSU football. Ten years ago on the day of this initial post, Troy passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. He was never able to finish The Bronco the way he wanted. His family was forced to sell The Bronco to make ends meet.

Over the next few years, The Bronco changed hands several times, before being donated to the Boise State Univerity Alumni Association. They promised to restore it, and keep it as a treasured part of the school. This never happened. Seven years after they received it, The Bronco had fallen into a sad state. Stored in the elements for years, it no longer ran, had mismatched tires, chipped and failing paint and logos, and it was decided The Bronco wasn't worth the space it occupied.

The Alumni Association sold The Bronco at an auction, without offering it back to the donor. My wife, Troy's daughter, had been searching for it for nearly a year, found out it had been sold, and was able to get in contact with the new owner. We were able to buy it from the new owner, and bring it back to the family.

Our goal is to restore it to its former glory, and continue the tradition of Boise State Football tailgating with another generation. This fundraiser will allow us to begin to fix the damage that 10 years of neglect have caused, and bring The Bronco back better than ever.
