Jesus Medical Expenses; Urgent Need
Donation protected
Hi, this is Jean, and I am fundraising to help Maria fund the urgent lifesaving medical care for her father. They live in Mexico and the medical system is not what it is here in the US. To get the care her dad needs to survive, they have to pay upfront. They are doing everything they can, including borrowing money and finding ways to raise money.
If you need more details, keep reading but with a warning, the following description is graphic and heartbreaking.
Out of nowhere, Maria’s dad Jesus (55 years old) started throwing up blood this past Wednesday and was taken to the ER. He was losing blood fast, so family and friends came to donate blood (you have to provide your own blood when a transfusion is needed). After two days of continued internal bleeding, Jesus was still on the list for a procedure to diagnose why he was bleeding. Basically, just waiting with no treatment and no timeframe. The hospital stopped feeding him and Jesus was getting weaker and weaker. Maria knew her dad would likely not survive if they did not take immediate action. Borrowing money, Maria paid to send her dad to a private hospital one hour away for an endoscopy. Jesus was then returned to the original hospital and has continued bleeding while Maria and her mom wait to get answers on the next steps. Yesterday the doctors said Jesus needed to be intubated, but earlier that day her mom just watched as a patient literally died in the bed next to Jesus when that patient’s tubes were removed. They could not help but wonder, would this happen to their loved one too?
It was clear that to receive the care Jesus needs to survive, he needs to go back to the bigger hospital where they have more staff and experience. However, this will lead to additional medical and living expenses. Maria and her family will need the gas money to drive back and forth or find a place to stay near the hospital so they can be available to tend to Jesus’ needs. They are hoping the transfer can happen today.
If you have read this far, thank you for caring. It is a very frightening time for Maria and her family. Please, if you can, anything that you donate will help pay for Jesus’ care. They are trusting God and praying for His mercy for what is to come. Please also join them in prayer for wisdom, answers, and miraculous healing!
Thank you,
Jean
