Mission Trip

Hello friends and family! This summer I have an amazing opportunity to engage in God's kingdom in new ways through my church and the YoungLife ministry. I'm most excited about these two opportunities because the Younglife camp will take me deeper into my understanding of God and my Maine mission trip will help me activate this learning to serve those less fortunate then myself.
We're going to a city in Maine called Lewiston, to work with a ministry that our church partners with called The Root Cellar. The Root Cellar has been around for many years and focuses on welcoming international refugees to the United States through various programs including ESL classes, finance classes, and meeting very real and immediate needs like job placement programs, food co-ops, and after school programs for kids from the neighborhood. I'm exited about it because I love kids and have been volunteering at church in the children's ministry for a while now and I think it would be really cool to work with kids from other countries and cultures. A lot of kids and their families come from countries that aren't Christian and many of them don't even know about Jesus. I get a chance to be the hand and feet of Jesus and introduce him to these children.
Whether you support me financially or through prayer and encouragement, it means a lot! I can't wait to see what I learn and get to experience this summer and I'll definitely share an update when I get home from Maine.
