Veteran family in need

It is with a heavy heart that on Dec 9th, 2024 one of my favorite veterans lost his beloved wife, Sheila Scott, very unexpectedly.

I met Sheila and her husband, a disabled veteran about 7 years ago and developed a strong bond with them both.

Charles and Sheila have adopted their granddaughter, who is now 8 years old.

During the month Sheila was hospitalized, Charles had to quit his job as an over the road truck driver and can't return to work until he can arrange daycare for his granddaughter and bury his wife. He is now almost two months behind on the mortgage of their home.

The City of Warren donated the home even though it was in great need of repair. They mortgaged a loan to have the home completely renovated. He is looking at about $15,000 in funeral expenses. We need to come together and rally for this veteran family. They need and deserve our support.

There is no life insurance to cover expenses, and the challenges Charles will face trying to raise Nora on his own will be a huge challenge.

This is a good Christian family, lovely people.

Sheila is the kindest soul you'd ever want to meet. Loving, strong, and caring for others above herself. I watched my wife go through the hospital asking others if she could pray for them while she was sick. Being married to Sheila made me a better person, husband, and father. Her love for her family is unwavering.
