2 Great Grandmas-Last Big Adventure

Hi, I’m Mary and I’m 82; that’s me on the right. This is my sister Cathy, on the left, and she’s 80. After a lifetime of struggle with poverty and giving our time and energy to meet the needs of others, in this final stage of our lives, we want to experience the joy of “receiving.” Our dream is to go ’Road Trippin’. After 30 wondrous years in Alaska, I am moving back to my home state of New York in September. My sister is here to help plan for a beautiful road trip. We envision a beautiful 3-week journey as we meander down the Alcan Highway and travel east on the Trans Canada Highway to our final destination of Horseheads, NY. We hope that this will be the adventure of our lifetime and we know that it could be our last.

We are a couple of survivors! Despite a lifetime of poverty, challenge and struggle, we never lost our spirit and we’re still learning. We know this trip will be one of wonder and growth. We have survived and we have seldom had to rely on others, but now we’re asking for your help to make it happen.
