80 Year Old Aunt & Uncle Would Never Ask for Help

Donation protected
I am the niece of Joy and Dennis S., and as some may be aware, my elderly aunt and uncle were the victims of heartless computer scammers. They lost all the money they had saved over so many years that was supposed to sustain them for the rest of their lives. While barely getting by now on their meager pensions, any unexpected expenses could leave them totally penniless. They are a kind, strong Christian couple who have always been there for anyone who needed them, yet they would never want to ask for help now that they are in need. So I am asking on their behalf. I hope you will find it in your hearts to make a contribution to their GoFundMe. Any amount will help.

Here’s the story of the evil scammers who took advantage of my sweet aunt and uncle. They hope others will learn from their unfortunate situation.

My uncle saw a message displayed on his computer from “Microsoft” that claimed that malware was stealing his personal and financial information. The message displayed a phone number for him to call for help. Even though the message was not from Microsoft, he saw a trusted name and didn’t question the information in the message. Not realizing he was actually calling the scammers, he allowed them remote access to his computer so they could “fix” the problem. They hijacked his phone so when he dialed his bank, they were able to route the call to one of their own con people masquerading as his bank. They convinced him that criminals could gain access to his credit card, bank account and annuity, and persuaded him to withdraw his money and wire it to another “trusted” bank. They said they would keep his money safely sequestered from the criminals for a few days, then FedEx a check back to him for the full amount. The money was never returned, and the scammers he thought he could trust, completely disappeared.

Despite multiple authorities including, state and federal DOJ, Homeland Security, and the FBI, opening a case to bring these criminals to justice, they let my aunt and uncle know that there is little hope their money will ever be recovered.

Please beware of these criminals who prey on the elderly with elaborate, sophisticated scams. Thank you in advance for any support you can give. If you can’t donate, please at least share this post on your social media.
